A very brief history of the Central Jersey Volkswagen Society

In 1990, Art Neary, Derek Diaz, and some other local VW enthusiasts first formed the Central Jersey Volkswagen Society. Their first meeting, in March of 1990, was at the Sunset Diner in Greenbrook, NJ. After a short period of time with Art Neary as the president, the club held shows at Princeton Volkswagen and at Liberty State Park.

Fast forward ten years, after about a year without meetings, in 2001 the club was revived with the help of Mike Buckholtz and a few of the clubs original members. Today it's as strong as it ever was. Over the years many new members have joined and some of the old members have passed on. We must never forget that without the help of many hard working people like Kevin Brown, Dean Lowrey, and Pete Hollish, Central Jersey Volkswagen Society wouldn't be here today.
